I have to be honest; when I heard about Red Cup Living I almost cried out in agony because the most annoying song popped in my head. I know most people love the song "Red Solo Cup" by Toby Keith but not this girl. Don't get me wrong, I use those cups and I've played beer pong with those cups, but really? Is it really necessary to write a song about "Red Solo Cups"? That song just gets under my skin and makes me want to pull my hair out every time I hear it! I figured I would check out Red Cup Living anyway and see what the deal was but I swore if it had anything to do with that stupid song, I would "X" out instantly.
By the time I had snooped through the whole Red Cup Living website I was extremely excited and intrigued. Their products would be perfect for cook-outs, beer pong, tailgating, and watching OSU football all by myself! (Yeah, yeah, yeah; I'm one of those crazed Buckeye fans that most of the nation hates, life goes on.) Red Cup Living has the coolest line of reusable red cups that look exactly like the Red Solo Cups. Obviously their signature item is the 16 ounce Icon Cup but they also have a 32 ounce cup, shooter cups, and wine cups. The Red Cup Living wine glass is my favorite! In fact, I'm drinking some Pinot Grigio out of it right now (it's been a rough day with a teething tot). Red Cup Living doesn't just have red cups though; they have tons of cool apparel and accessories, as well, i.e. magnetic bottle openers, coasters, trucker caps, and t-shirts.
We hosted a party at the beginning of the summer and bought a huge bag of Red Solo Cups from Costco. Needless to say, we had a ton left. I literally found about 4 or 5 of those cups sitting around everyday for two months straight and it drove me absolutely insane! Every single person that came by used one of those cups and left it laying out after they had parted. By the time we only had about 20 cups left; people that would visit started putting them in the sink to be washed. Why you ask? My fiancé just couldn't part with his trusty old Red Solo Cups so he made people save them. He seriously has one sitting on our Primo water tank 24/7. We have other glasses in the house; why not use one of those? Who knows his reasoning but I figured if I could get him a Red Cup Living reusable red cup, he would be happy to let the Solo Cups disappear.
I'm happy to say that it worked. He loves his new Red Cup Living cups! The cups are extremely durable (trust me, I've already dropped one) and thick with double walled plastic so you don't have to worry about crushing them and super easy to wash which is very important to me.There's still a red cup sitting up on our water tank but at least it's one I can quickly wash for him or pop right into the dishwasher on a regular basis. My fiancé also got a Red Cup Living trucker hat and a heavy duty, pre-shrunk, 100% cotton t-shirt that he absolutely loved until the dang puppy decided to jump up, grab it, and rip it to shreds. Thankfully he still has his super cool trucker hat that he can sport around. I'm still mad about it though, GRRR... I also received a T-shirt from Red Cup Living that is super stretchy and comfortable. The women's t-shirts are 100% combed ring-spun cotton jersey with a set-in collar of 1x1 Baby Rib with front cover stitch and satin label.
Red Cup Living's Story
Red Cup Living was born in 2007 It all began with family. At the end of the day, when everyone was arriving home from work or school, they would stop by and have a Red Cup. Regardless of what was in the Red Cup, it was a sign of a fun, spontaneous get-together; a time to talk, connect and just be together. Soon the neighbors started to come over to meet each other and new friendships were born. After a while, it became clear that the Red Cup was a way of life, a philosophy so to speak. (Just ask Toby Keith)
So, here we go… the goal was to bring the Red Cup Living philosophy and way of life to everyone. Life is busy and it’s easy to forget that the real value is in connecting with people we love, having a good time, and creating unforgettable moments with them. This is what Red Cup Living is all about.
