Get Cook'n With the Cook'n Recipe Organizer!

Cook'n is the #1 best-selling recipe organizer on the market and I am so stoked that I got the chance to review this software. I always have tons of saved recipes on my computer, printed out, or even hand written and it's always such a hassle to find the recipe I'm looking for. From now on, I won't have that problem. With the Cook'n recipe organizer, you can easily enter in your own recipes into the library or upload them straight from a website. I'm still learning about Cook'n because there's so many things this program can do, but I'll give you the basics.
One thing you can easily do is plan menus. All you have to do is drag and drop the recipes right into the days of the week to create your menu. You can easily plan the right meals for any day, week, month, or year. Cook'n can also help you build your shopping lists by combining the food on your menus and organizing the items by aisles so you aren't running around like a chicken with it's head cut off (I am a nut at the grocery store especially if I have coupons). The Cook'n Recipe Organizer also calculates the approximate cost of your shopping list and converts the cups or tablespoons needed for your recipe into how many cans or packages needed.
Shopping List

My favorite thing about the Cook'n Recipe Organizer is that you can type in all the ingredients that you already have in your home and Cook'n will search the web for recipes that match. How awesome is that?! I love this idea because sometimes I am just way too tired, lazy, or cold to go to the store just for one meal. Another one of my favorite things about cook'n is that you can easily calculate the nutritional value of your recipes so that you can ensure that your family is getting a healthy balanced meal. Cook'n has over 10,000 food facts in the database so even finding the healthiest brand is a breeze.

Nutritional Values

With the Cook'n Recipe Quick Fill option you can efficiently organize your own recipes. Cook'n's recipe window looks just like a recipe card and when you start to enter in ingredients, the program uses Quick-Fill editing to type most of the recipe in for you. You can even add your own photos and videos to the recipe! After you have entered all your recipes into the system, you can print out a family cookbook that even has the nutritional values, a title page, and a table of contents! If you'd like to share a recipe instead then Cook'n makes it super easy to send a recipe to a friend or family member with just a couple clicks of the mouse.

Family Cookbook

I am absolutely smitten by the Cook'n Recipe Organizer and I really think it is the most helpful program out there, especially for a mother. For just $80 you can download Cook'n straight to your computer for instant access. Once you have your software installed, be sure to check out their huge database of cookbooks that can easily be purchased and downloaded right to your recipe organizer (one cookbook comes free with your Cook'n Recipe Organizer purchase).

Fall Apple Festival Giveaway

Have you heard the news? It's apple season here in the United States! If you are someone who loves apples and apple desserts, this is the time to pick fresh apples from your local orchard. If you live in Ohio, apples are priced higher this year from lack of supply due to weird weather. If you are a Pinterest addict like us, discounted apples (not in Ohio) also means you can try all the delicious apple recipes being pinned without spending a small fortune on apples!
To celebrate the start of the Apple Season, Budget Earth and Mew Review are having their own Fall Apple Festival and you are invited! All of your favorite blogs are pitching in to offer our readers some awesome apple themed prizes, like a Collector's Edition of Apples to Apples AND an Apple Scented Soy Candle! While we may not be able to give all of our readers free hayrides and homemade treats, we hope you do enjoy our small festival! To learn more about this family game, check out Mew Review's review of Apples…

Product Review for Pretzilla Pretzel Buns

So a couple of weeks ago my family and I decided to take a trip up to Whole Foods since we've never been to one and the only organic grocery store around here doesn't have a huge selection. We're walking through checking everything out and I came across these yummy looking soft pretzel buns. I have to say, the packaging is what really caught my eye but then I realized the buns didn't have salt on them so I was even more intrigued. We bought one package of the burger buns even though they were on sale 2 for $7. Two days later we decide to check them out. It wasn't until we had our sandwiches made that we realized they were moldy. We were completely bummed because this was something we've never tried before.

I went ahead and e-mailed the company Pretzilla to inform them of the mold, mind you it was the Saturday of memorial day weekend. I wasn't expecting a reply until at least Tuesday, but to my surprise, I was contacted back the following morning. The comp…

Rent College Textbooks and Save Up to 80%!

This is a "sponsored post." The company who sponsored it compensated me via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value.

I recently went back to college to work on my Bachelor of Science degree for Nutrition. It's been about 7 years since I've had to purchase college textbooks and let me tell you, the prices have gone up dramatically! I registered for a Sociology class but had to drop it because I couldn't afford the book which was $239! That's outrageous!  I understand that I could always sell the book back to the school at the end of the semester, but, you and I both know that the colleges only offer you a fraction of what you paid. Plus, there was no way I could afford that book on top of my $200 Statistics book, graphing calculator, and two other textbooks needed for classes.  I like to save as much money as possible, especially on things I'll only be using for a short time. This is exactly why I'm using Campusbookrentals.com for the other two …
