1. What inspired you to create burlap & grace?
--The desire to have my own small business. The problem is I have so many ideas and passions that it is hard to pin one down but for now, at this point in our life this fell into place nicely. Burlap & grace is actually a event planning business and while waiting to fill my calender with events I started making hair accessories!!
2. How do you balance work and family?
--- I can not lie..its difficult. On my really busy days I really try to take breaks often to sit and read a book or have a mini picnic with my kids. I even let them climb up and help me sometimes....the key is not to lose focus on the reason you started your business. Mine was and is to be home with my kids.
3. What advice would you give to other women starting their own company?
--Don't give up!!! There are some lows sometimes but the highs are so worth hanging in there! And stay connected with people that you meet..I have met some amazing people through b&g!
4. Who has inspired you most in creating burlap & grace?
--There are so many people that have supported me and inspired me to follow my dreams...my husband, parents, family, many friends but I have to say I have had a couple of really dear friends of mine that have really..I guess I would say "made" me do this haha! One that helped me start up b&g and gave me so many encouraging talks and a few hard ones that set me straight! (gotta love a good friend like that!!) and one friend that has stood by me through many things in my adult life.
5. Is there any exciting news about burlap & grace you want to share?
-- There will be lots of exciting things coming up with burlap & grace!!! We offer event planning for all types of events, there will be lots of new hair accessories coming up for the holidays and definitely some great deals..so be sure to stop by and "like" our page to stay up to date on what we have to offer!!
