Cuisinart Baby Review and Giveaway!

**I received this item for the purpose of a review. I was in no way compensated for my opinion as they are my own. Your opinion may vary from mine.**
Who knew Cuisinart had a baby line? Not this girl! Recently I was given the opportunity to try out the 2 in 1 Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer for review purposes and I had a blast in doing so! I've always wanted to make my daughter fresh pureed food from home but never invested the money into a device for that purpose. I'm so glad I had the chance to finally make her some fresh food.
I started out by making my daughter some fresh strawberry applesauce. At first I was a little overwhelmed when learning how to use the 2 in 1 Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer but it ended up being fairly easy. First I peeled and cut up some granny smith apples and cored a few strawberries. I know applesauce isn't normally made with Granny Smith Apples but my daughter loves the sour apples best so I figured, what the heck? (Don't forget to rinse your fruits and veggies!) Next, I pressed the release button on the cover of unit and lifted it to open. Using the handle, I placed the 4 cup bowl on top of the base and inserted the blade into the bowl, pressing firmly until it locked.
Next, I removed the measuring cup from the steam & bottle warming chamber, filled it with water to the marked position that went along with the amount of food being steamed (There is a steam chart listed in the directions). I poured the water into the steam chamber and placed the measuring cup back inside the chamber as well. I found it very convenient that the measuring cup sits snugly back in the steam/bottle warming chamber. I'm the master of losing things.

Ingredients were added to the bowl, next. I cut up two Granny Smith apples into small 1/2 pieces, pushed the bowl lid on to seal it, and lowered the cover until it locked. I turned the dial to steam and the LED light illuminated to blue to let me know steaming had begun.
This is where I got a little confused. It seemed like the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer wasn't steaming so I shut the unit off to figure it out. I had left the water in the measuring cup instead of pouring into the warming chamber (duh). I fixed that then turned the dial back to steam but nothing happened. I had to read through the instructions to figure out what I had done wrong. Because of the safety features of the 2 in 1 Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer, the boiling chamber has to cool down before it can be used again. Easy fix, just pour really cold water into the boiling chamber then try again.
After the steaming was done, which takes around 10-20 minutes, I added 3 medium sized strawberries, turned the dial to chop, and pulsed it a few times to get the apples broken up. Once that was done, I added about an 8th of a cup of sugar and held the dial in the chop position for maybe 5 seconds. Viola, yummy Strawberry Applesauce that my daughter loved!

The 2 in 1 Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer can also warm your bottles in a matter of minutes. This is a much better option than exposing your child to radiation from the microwave. Instructions are pretty basic when warming a bottle and if you follow them correctly, the temperature will be perfect.

The 2 in 1 Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer has some pretty amazing safety features, is BPA free, and comes with everything you need to make the perfect food for your baby or toddler. Each unit comes with detailed instructions, tips, recipes, a steam chart to use for best results, and an 18 month limited warranty. I really enjoyed using the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer and can't wait to try something new next time.
Cuisinart's Baby line also includes a baby bottle warmer with a built in night light, a baby bottle sterilizer, and baby food storage containers. To purchase any of these products including the Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer (which runs at $129), check out Cuisinart's website. Connect with Cuisinart on Twitter

Herbal Essence Naked Volume Collection

**I received this item for the purpose of a review. I was in no way compensated for my opinion as they are my own. Your opinion may vary from mine.** Herbal Essence has a new collection out called the Naked Collection Volume. Obviously I was intrigued by this because naked to me means no crazy chemicals and my hair loves products like those. I used to have very thick and healthy hair but it has thinned out dramatically since I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease over 5 years ago. Nowadays, my hair is very picky about the products I use. I wouldn't say it's damaged, it actually looks and feels pretty healthy, but it goes flat and becomes greasy quick because of how thin it is. Because of the autoimmune disease I have, I like to watch what kind of chemicals my body comes in contact with. Anything is mess up the balance in a compromised immune system. Needless to say, I was excited to learn more about the Naked Volume Collection by Herbal Essence.  The naked Naked
