When I found out that Plated.com started delivering to the midwest I did the Super Sasha Happy Dance and just had to try their service for myself! Plated.com is a delivery service that delivers fresh ingredients right to your door for quick and easy preperation of gourmet meals. Each week, Plated.com chooses a new menu of recipes created by featured top chefs. After you have chosen your recipes for the week, Plated.com's people go out and find the freshest ingredients out there and ship them straight to your door. Recipes are extremely easy to make and usually take no longer than 30 minutes to prepare.
A new menu goes live every Monday at 12pm where ordering is available (at least 4 plates) until the following Monday at 11:59am. Orders are then overnighted for Tuesday delivery and ready for you to release your inner chef!
Worried about your food staying cool and fresh until you return home from a long day at work? Don't! Plated.com shipps all ingredients in a custom-made, 100% recyclable, and biodegradable box loaded with ice packs to ensure your food stays fresh and yummy. Just transfer your ingredients right to your fridge that evening and everything will remain fresh for the remainder of the week.
My family and I got to try the Skirt Steak with Corn Salsa and Chicken Lettuce Wraps with Rice Noodles. We loved both of the recipes but the Chicken Lettuce Wraps were our favorite and were very easy to make. Preparation only took about 30-40 minutes and the only thing I needed to supply from my pantry was kosher salt and pepper. Plated.com sent everything including the chicken, fresh veggies, sauces, spices, and noodles. They even sent fresh ginger that I peeled and minced myself!
Cooking the recipes from Plated.com made me feel like a master chef. I absolutely loved the experience and the fact that I was cooking fresh gourmet food for my family. The menu options each week amaze me. I would have never cooked any of these recipes without the help of Plated.com. I can't wait to try them out again!
Right now, Plated.com delivers to the Northwest and Midwest only but be sure to check out this week's menu and delivery areas as I have a feeling they will be expanding to other areas.

We met the staff at Plated.com at BlogHer13. The product seemed to meet our strict standards but after giving away the gift cards we were given all hell broke loose. The winners were charged $7 for shhipping and some food never arrived. We reached out to Emily at Plated.com and was told she would connect us with rep Benhtzi. This was Sept. 1, 2013. We reached out again and again and NO ONE from Plated.com ever got back with us. In the meantime, angry winners called us and we kept telling them we were waiting to hear back from Emily at Plated. She was just terrible! Their cards were charged each week for additional Plated.com meals. WHAT A MESS! It was like the old days of AOL when the endless CDs showed up at your home! Since September, we called her again on November 11 and she was dismissive and rude. At this point we will be forced to refund the $7 to eleven winners and risk the trust of our readers.
WE SIMPLY CANNOT RECOMMEND PLATED! Buyer Beware
